Preventive Dental Services We Offer

Staying ahead of dental problems starts with the right routine care. We offer all of the following in one office.

Routine Cleanings and Exams

A professional cleaning removes plaque and tartar that brushing and flossing at home cannot remove. During your exam, we check your teeth, gums, bite, and overall oral health for signs of dental problems. Dr. Fedler will recommend a visit schedule based on your individual needs.

Digital X-Rays and Imaging

Digital X-rays help us examine areas that may not be visible during a regular dental exam, including spaces between the teeth and below the gumline. X-rays are recommended based on each patient’s dental history, symptoms, age, and risk factors.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride strengthens enamel and makes teeth more resistant to decay. We recommend it for both children and adults, especially patients who are at higher risk for cavities.

Gum Disease Prevention

We check your gums for redness, bleeding, inflammation, and other signs of gum disease. If we find a concern, we explain what we see and discuss the recommended next steps.

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants cover the deep grooves of the back teeth, where food and bacteria commonly collect. They may be recommended for children, teens, and some adults based on their risk for cavities.

WHY CHOOSE US

Why Dental Faith

Preventive Dental Care Based on Your Needs

We take time to learn about your dental history, current concerns, and oral health needs. Dr. Fedler explains her findings and recommended care so you can make an informed decision.

Early Detection of Dental Concerns

Digital X-rays and other imaging may help identify decay, bone loss, and dental concerns that are not visible during a regular exam. Finding certain problems early may allow for less involved treatment.

Care for the Whole Family

We see patients of all ages, from young children getting their first cleaning to adults managing long-term oral health. Everyone gets the same level of attention.

Honest Recommendations

We tell you what your teeth actually need. If your mouth is healthy, we say so. We do not recommend treatment just to fill a schedule.

Comfortable Care for Every Patient

If dental visits make you nervous, please let us know. Our bilingual team explains each step and gives you time to ask questions throughout your appointment.

How It Works

Four Steps to Better Oral Health

Not sure where to begin? Your visit will be based on your current oral health and the type of care you need.

Step 1: Dental Exam

We examine your teeth, gums, bite, and overall oral health. Digital X-rays or other images may be taken when needed.

Step 2: Care Recommendations

Dr. Fedler explains what she finds and discusses the type of cleaning or treatment that fits your needs.

Step 3: Preventive Care

Your visit may include a professional cleaning, fluoride treatment, sealants, or other preventive services based on your oral health.

Step 4: Follow-Up Schedule

We recommend a return schedule based on your dental history, current health, and risk for future dental problems.

Why Preventive Dentistry Matters

The Value of Regular Dental Care

Preventive dental care helps lower the risk of cavities, gum disease, and tooth loss. Regular visits also give your dentist an opportunity to identify changes that may require treatment or further evaluation.

Brushing and flossing at home are important, but they cannot remove hardened tartar or show problems beneath the gums and between the teeth. Professional exams and cleanings work alongside your daily routine.

Periodontal disease has been associated with health conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. These connections are still being studied, and gum disease has not been shown to directly cause heart disease.

Regular visits also allow us to compare changes in your teeth and gums over time. This helps Dr. Fedler provide recommendations based on your dental history and current oral health.

The Dental Faith Difference

How Often Should You Visit The Dentist

Finding the Right Visit Schedule

Many patients visit the dentist twice a year for exams and cleanings, but the right schedule depends on the individual.

Patients with gum disease, frequent cavities, tobacco use, certain health conditions, or other risk factors may need more frequent visits. Dr. Fedler will recommend a schedule based on your dental history and current oral health.

Children should generally have their first dental visit after the first tooth appears and no later than their first birthday. Early visits allow the dentist to check oral development and help families begin healthy dental habits.

We explain why a certain schedule is recommended and answer any questions you may have about your care.

Common Questions

What is preventive dentistry?

Preventive dentistry includes routine care such as dental exams, cleanings, X-rays, fluoride treatments, and sealants. These services help lower the risk of dental problems and identify concerns that may need treatment.

A routine cleaning and exam is one of the most affordable dental services available. Most insurance plans cover it fully. For patients without insurance, we offer membership and financing options. Call us and we will walk you through the numbers before your visit.

Most patients do well with two visits per year. If you have a history of gum disease, get cavities often, or have certain health conditions, we may recommend coming in more frequently. We build a schedule that fits your actual needs.

For most patients, yes. Fluoride strengthens enamel and reduces the risk of cavities. It is especially important for children and for adults who are more prone to decay. We assess your risk level and recommend fluoride only when it makes sense for your teeth.

Yes. While sealants are most commonly used for children, adults without decay or fillings in their back teeth can benefit from them too. They seal out food and bacteria from the deep grooves where cavities most often form.

Most dental insurance plans cover preventive care at 100%, including cleanings, exams, and X-rays. We verify your benefits before your appointment so you know exactly what is covered and what to expect.

We check every tooth for signs of decay, examine your gums for early signs of disease, screen for oral cancer, review your X-rays, and assess your bite and jaw. At the end, we go over everything we found and talk through any next steps. No surprises.
